The weather's returned to normal again, and I had shorts on yesterday, cutting the grass. The snow has caused it to grow thicker than I've seen all year.

City crews are still working every day,...

I'm wondering how slippery that salt is, to ride on? I recall that one of our members took his R1200ST to 151 mph there.

I got passed by a guy (actually, I let him by) on a GS last year, on Hwy 89, just south of St. Mary, one of the twistiest roads in Montana. I was pretty upset. :D I...

The second dump of snow this week resulted in damage to trees all over town, and 30,000 people had no power.

We had no heat for much of the day and the cats got pretty cold.

    It makes you...

In recent years, I've ridden more than 30 different machines, with a couple of them, the R1200S, and the Triumph Sprint ST 1150, being brilliant. But like your RT for you, my 1200 ST is just right...

I find the toughest part of riding in snow is that it sticks to your faceshield and you have to keep wiping it off. At least at this time of year, it doesn't stick to the ground, so you have some...

We got our first Fall snowfall yesterday: about 10 cm.

I was returning from a 4 day trip on Sunday afternoon, and rode through the cold front about 5 km from home. Talk about perfect timing. We...

A very interesting machine. Probably most suitable for a collection. Doubtless, not many of them will be built before production ceases, and it will be as rare as a Morbidelli.

    Jason:

I've had both, but my Oiler was an 1150:

    1. They're both fairly reliable bikes, the R1100 more so.

    2. Get a '97 or later 1100 and then you have no transmission worries.

    Good luck.

IIRC, I used to run the Metzelers on my RS at 34 / 36. I don't like running them harder, as they tend to wear in the centre. We're a few hours away from twisty roads in my part of the country.
