Staintune and Remus seem to be the popular exhuasts systems for your bike. I had a staintune once before (they make sport and touring versions) the sport and found it to loud. The touring version...
As long as you keep everything nice and tight it should not crack. The cracks are cause by vibration. I recently expierenced cracks (looking at the engine left to right cylinder #4) I had it welded...
Sure he wasn't using the Mobil 15-50 (red cap), thats what most people use. None synthetic is fine too. K-bike motors go 300K miles with regular oil. Important thing is to just change it. I...
91k100rs
91K100RS have round mufflers too. :fight
thanks :clap
Just replaced mine (2 tank 1 tail) this weekend, used a hair dryer and a credit card to remove the old ones. Replacements are about $7.00 each, or you can get the really nice ones like on the cars...
I believe the Paralever was used starting in 1990 (atleast on the KRS) :thumb
I have one on my 91KRS, it works pretty good and is really not that noticable on the bike, it is easy to install and remove for cleaning. I didn't move it around much, but it took the major...
Not sure what year K100rS you have, but you can use radial tires also. Mine came with the Bridgestone battle-axes, but I switched the front to the the new Metzler sportec and will be changing the...
Yep your right they did have the cam bearing problem in 99 the first year for the twin cam, your wrong about the service interval its 5,000 miles and no valve adjustments, 2,500 is just a suggested...
Not sure why you say that Harleys are overvalued. If you look at a brand new stock Harley, the fit and finish is excellent and the chrome is triple plated, thats not a cheap process, and they are...
"Harley" as in Harleydavidson motorcycles or "the motor company" . My point was that I think a lot of Harley's good resale is attributed to lower miles on the bikes and that the look never really...
Here is my 2 pennies. Resale of any bike is based on a number of factors, such as the model, color, how many made, how long it was made, etc. It also depends on if you are trading it in to a dealer...
I would first check the battery. I had the starter relay stick before on my K75 and it was because the battery was low. You have a later model K, which the ABS is very sensitive to battery charge.
Thanks, I leaning towards the progressive. All the BMW dealers seem to carry it and recommed it and its only about 50 bucks more than an OEM replacement... :thumb
Rear shock is losing its dampening and causing the bike to wallow a bit. Its the stock shock with over 30K miles on it, I ride 99% solo and weight about 220 lbs. Progrssive, Ohlins, Works oh my? ...
I guess everyone likes their own bike or have their own preference on which RS looks the best. I know that at my dealer the other week the new K12S, K1200RS and my bike were parked together, and I...
I don't believe anything castrosphic, but a lot of small minor things that can be corrected. Loose bolts on muffler cover, bad seat, engine not black powder coated (not really a problem), smaller...
at worst you'll wear the centers out first...
The GT is a wonderful bike and will do everything better than your old RS. 2004 technology versus 1970s. However, I think what people were referring to was the charater of your RS and the good...
I think his initial email is correct. I went through the trouble of converting my 91Krs tail light to a 1157 so that I could use my bulb that flashes and then goes solid when you apply the brakes. ...
Came close to using the long life stuff too, I have it in my car and its good for 15 years or 150,000 miles according to my car's manufacturer. I ended up using the BMW coolant ($17) its not cheap,...
Thanks for that information, did not know about the R1200GS problems. I know someone that had a 94 K1100lt that added fill and drain bolts where the rear splines are located and filled it with gear...
