Thanks pffog. Cheers.
My '94 R100RT has the oem saddle bags and they have several banged-up places and scratches.
Has anyone here tried to sand and repaint the cases? Would it easier ($$) to have a auto body
I'm not far from Deland w/Tom High. Talked to him on the phone several times. His labor prices are high. I have read all reports I could find on him and personally, although close to me, I would...
Farley. I'll see if I can find the seller's info and update.
Hi Wayne: Those do look better than stock wheels. My front wheel is black in the inside from road dirt and grease.
Hard to keep clean. Guess I could take it off and clean it all up. Painting at...
I just went through this with my '86 Naked R80. My situation required a new M/C as the old
piston had corroded beyond rebuild. Maybe this info thread will help?
I hear you guys. I just read and read some more about old threads and it can be done, but ain't easy and sure
ain't inexpensive; not that I thought the latter. I'm polishing up my old wheels now. ...
Can it be done? Wondering if spoked wheels can be installed/purchased for my
naked 1986 R80? I keep thinking of how nice spokes look and figured I'd ask
the learned members here. What is the...
That's what I mean. Better price than what I've seen. Thanks miairhead. Cheers.
I have some big ole' feet I guess. :help
Just checked the Amazon for universal boots and they are called "shift socks".
There are a lot of them for sale. Just have to find one I like and fits which
should not be an issue. Thanks.
Actually was not clear on my description. The boot I saw went from the shift rubber
as in the Hucky's pic and then ran up the shaft to the shift linkage. It basically covered
I recently recall seeing a boot one could install on their shift lever shaft to keep one's
shoes from getting marred by the shaft. Has anyone seen this item and a site for it, too?
Can't find it...
I, too, bought bags from them. Owner, George Thomas, knows airheads and rides them.
He is great to buy from and will go out out of his way to help you find something or direct you
to an alternate...
Nicely Done. Cheers.
I'll try it. Hope the wires have some slack in them to facilitate removal and reinstallation. I find no heated grip
reference in my Clymer.
The entire new perch was $285.79. I'm happy with it all. Thanks Anton.
Old piston was in poor condition. Circlip rusted out, almost. Piston corroded.
Went ahead and ordered new control perch with a new brake lever already installed and the M/C. Ready to
That would be the ticket Barry. Thanks for the input. I'll keep on the outlook for one. Cool.
I'm thinking about running a light bar on either side of my headlamp for aux. lights. Has anyone seen
any Airhead specific light bars out "there". I have a friend who could probably work-up...
I'm in the process of ordering a new MC and lever. I take heed to all the good advice
and thanks everyone, Anton, for all the great help. Best to you all.
Hi DennisDarrow - my attempt at a funny was only made tonque-in-check.
I realize Anton is a premier Airhead expert and in fact, I plan on sending my tranny to him
for a rebuild sometime in the...
Thanks Anton. I was thinking about just jamming a racquetball between the brake lever and the handlebar.
Suppose that might be counter-productive if I ever need to stop. :dance
OK - unscrewed the brake switch and it tests fine. Very clean for an '86 bike. Cleaned and lubed and
cleaned and lubed the internals of the lever case, if you will. Cleaned lever. Cleaned the...
I will research the switch Imo1131. Sure would be a lot less $$$ if it were only the switch....... Thanks and cheers.
