N1kcl, it seems that the link to your pic is broken... :(
And your life even slightly more than that...
Probably the "they can afford the fancy bike so they can pay for the fancy dealership" factor. I just talked about this with my bro this weekend,...
OK, but the 24k is expensive, fuel filter change et al., and the MEZ6s added probably $300-$350 to the bill, including mounting etc... Still, ouch! :(
You're right. But this still means that someone has to do the service. I would be careful with that warranty, they have lawyers... :deal
Did you talk to the dealer? They might be able to skip part...
Bring out the (strip) steak! Never thought of that, can leave my bbq @ home during the next camping trip...
Looks great!
That's not what I meant of course :)
I baby the thing, upshifting below 3500 rpm, keeping it at 3000 rpm when at constant speed, and only using partial throttle for the first couple of miles... I do...
Isn't this another good reason to NOT let it idle until it warms up? Apart from the risk of meltdowns, the bike takes a lot longer to warm up while idling than when you start to (gently!) ride it.

What flash412 'said'! Out with that story if you please...
:)
You would think that something like this is too complicated for them to come up with. But that somehow doesn't seem to apply when they can make things more inconvenient...
I'm not sure, but I don't think so. Unless the pump sounds different in those cases than when turning the ignition on. But I don't see why this would only happen when pulling away in 1st. Thanks...
Thanks sfdoc. It doesn't seem to come with any bad smells, but then again, it doesn't happen often and the sound's only present for maybe a second or so if it does occur. It doesn't seem more...
Thanks for the reply. But my bike doesn't have ABS so it has to be something else... :bluduh
Inefficient prison system?
OK, cool. Thanks!
Quite OK, actually. Still not quiet, but not as bad as without it. I've put about 500 miles on the bike so far with the lip installed. It's still rather noisy, but there used to be a high pitched...
Calnalu, is that a special kind of key you have there with a BMW roundel on it?!?
Darn. Accidentally posted my response here:

and then couldn't find it no more...
Nice! I like black (why would that be? proud-daddy-syndrome...). This reminds me that I should still mount my hand guards. Are those the R1100GS ones?

EDIT: Why the last ride for the...
OK, let us know what you think of it!
Sorry for the speech then... :uhoh
AFAIK the oilheads require 95 RON gas, which equates to 91 octane (R+M)/2. These things don't have a knock sensor (the new hexheads do I think?), so I don't want to risk engine damage for a buck a...
That would be ANGATT (Absolutely No Gear All The Time)?
I see your point, the bike is nicer to ride without the screen. Until it starts freezing...
Hi,
Occasionally I hear a high-pitched noise (whine) coming from the engine when I let out the clutch in first gear. This only seems to happen when pulling away from a stop fairly strongly, but...
