If you think this "travesty" deserved a thread, I can't imagine what you'd do if you faced a real problem. I only wish all I had to concern myself with was a typo in a magazine ad. :violin
Some of you have too much time on your hands.
To the OP: It's an error. Move on.
I was just kidding with bikerfish, hence the winking emotive. I don't know the alloys used in either, but, the fact is, from multiple accounts I've read, both of these skid plates have proven...
At 4mm thick, the skid plate sold by Adventure Spec is nearly as thick as AltRider's US made 4.75mm one. ;)
I'm VERY happy with my choices of the AltRider skid plate. I'm currently using Givi engine guards.
Really? There's a vast difference between passing an old copy of the book to a friend and having an electronic version leaked onto the Internet where millions (billions?) would have access to it....
I too have the Haynes manual. It's definitely a worthwhile purchase.
I use a Hyper-Lite single 16-LED flashing brake light module. It is SUPER bright, works exactly as advertised, and can be user programmed to either flash for 5 seconds and go solid or flash...
Envy is an ugly thing.
After my experience with it, I think it should be called the "NO comfort" seat. After about 50 miles, it felt to me like I was sitting on a 2x6 board.
Thanks for the encouraging words, Jack! The seat is ordered and I can't wait to try it out!
That's awesome, Gary. I'll be thrilled if I can get that much mileage from these tires.
I just traded in my 2009 R1200RT for this 2011 F800GS this past Thursday.
I like it! :thumb
Looks great, Gary. If they still offered the yellow/black color combo I would have been all over one, but my only options were white or orange. I didn't care for the deep shade of orange they used,...
Are you using the stock seat? If not, which seat are you using?
Thanks, again! :thumb
I guess after the trauma of getting it muddy the first time, I'll be ok with getting it dirty all the time. :D
Exactly, Tracy. My butt loved the sofa style of the Russell Day-Longs I...
I'm going to give the BMW comfort dual seat a try ($460 MSRP). The Russell Day-Long seats I had on the RT were fabulous, but I'd rather not go with that style seat on the GS unless...
Well, I decided some time ago that it was time for a change so last Thursday, after test riding a few models, I traded in my '09 R1200RT for a new F800GS. I like it! However, after my first extended...
We managed one riding season on the Touratechs before deciding that they, although a big improvement over stock, were too firm for our tastes. I ended up sending my stock seats to Russell who...
I already have both the Haynes manual and the CD. The way it was written in your first post, I thought you were talking about the actual service manual in print form. Oh, well.
Anyway, the Haynes...
Hello. Can you please tell me the source you found for a hard copy of the 2009 service manual? I've been looking high and low for one without success.
It's DOT 4.
Did your bike not come with a manual? If you look, it's in there.
Well, there was a time when this may have been the answer, but I can honestly say the last couple of HD bikes I owned (2007 and 2008 models) were rock-solid reliable and didn't leak a drop of oil....
Bloomsburg with a "U." ;)
