Thanks for the replies, guys.
I'm embarrassed to post this, but as the title says I managed to strip one of the headlight mounting holes while installing a fly screen.
Anybody have thoughts on fix?
Is there a torque value...
I've sure been through your situation enough to sympathize with your hurt.
It gets better, but never goes away. There's nothing in the human experience quite like the love of a furry friend.
My Father Bill Allen, too was at Normandy (Utah Beach). He went on to fight under the command of Gen. Patton including the Battle of The Bulge. I remember asking if he was a hero and he replied...
Has anybody changed the color of their instrument lighting? I noticed last night that the white light doesn't do much to make the white-on-black readable.
What color would make 'em pop?
I've been using the Sidestand Fixer for a few years now and I really like it. Yes, I have leaned into a left hand curve only to find that the bike wouldn't lean or turn. This maneuver was...
Did the Motorrad Elektrik unit fit your R100R?

Thank's for the reassurance. I will relax and pour it in.
I just opened a box of Spectro 4 oil (20/50) to find that is rated A.P.I. SL. Spectro's website states that it is SG/SH/JASO MA.
Anybody have any insight? Is it safe to use in my '92 R100R?
I have owned a '92 R100R for 10 years now and Really like it. This is probably the best handling airhead ever made. A combination of the classic airhead engine and Showa front/Paralever...

tghsmith. Thanks to you also for the answer. The splines were lubed ~ 3,000 mi. ago when the output shaft seal was replaced. The mechanic didn't mention a problem. I am going to look at the...
AntonLargiader, Thanks for the response. I am measuring from the rear face of the transmission housing( where the outer cable goes into the front and the inner cable exits to the rear) to the lower...
Hello All, I have been struggling to get the correct adjustment specs on a 1992 R100R. I replaced the cable ( 50,000mi.) and the closest I can get to the spec is 201mm lower cable length and 2.80...
I have a '92 R100R and began to have similar problems last summer. It just felt vague and wobbly in corners (mostly at >60 mph or so). I got a lot of good suggestions here as have you....
Agreed on electrical connetion consideration :). I hoped that someone might know of a technique to remove the three nuts holding the entire dash panel/headlight assembly as one unit....
I thought I may as well ask the experts:
Bike: 1992 R100R
Problem: Dash Panel (Instrument Support) Removal.
On my bike, in order to remove the fork springs or measure the fork oil...
Honda Spray and Shine. Or Lemon Pledge.
A few years ago I attempted to install Napoleon bar-end mirrors on my R100R. These are the type that have an expanding rubber piece that expands inside the handlebar.
To save my life, I could not...
Thanks for the replies guys.
HID is off my mind now. At least that's one less thing to keep my mind off my work. :brow
I know what you mean about the risk. Southern WV is running over...
I noticed that prices have come down some on HID kits, and am very interested in installing one on a '92 R100R. This seems a good alternative to bulbs that promise more power=same...
Looks good, Veg. How did the cable lengths and, more importantly, the brake hose work out?
Thanks a lot
I'm looking to put slightly lower bars on my R100R.
Anybody know how these bars compare? Any other suggestions?
Well, the weekend was busier than I expected but I did get to take a short ride. Seems that a 1/2 turn reduction in rear preload made a noticeable difference (thank's Veg).
I am still going to...
