I recently put Pilot Activs on my 1982 R100RT.
Purchased because they come in inch sizes.
Not able to comment on tread life yet, but bike runs much smoother than the old Conti Go's that were on it...
I ordered blanks on line from a dealer.
Local key guy would not cut them, as they are steel.
I did not have the bike with me at the time, just the ignition key.
he made me two keys.
Pipes not flattened.
The job went well with removing the Rt. Lower fairing section, pulling off mufflers, remove headers from cylinders and dropped down

I am still in prep mode for ride to rally and have decided to pull the jugs and replace all the o-rings and, most importantly, the leaking push rod seals under the cylinders.

I should arrive at the rally Thursday. I have a stop in Nebraska first.
It would be good to meet up with you.
I will send you my contact info.
Job is done.
I did pull both the Rt Lower fairing off and drop the exhaust.
Found a few things as is often the case with first time procedures with new bike.
The crossover pipes both front &...
Well, lunch is over.
Back out to drop the exhaust and continue.
First oil change on 1982 R100RT with oil filter.
Remover Rt side lower fairing, went to harbor Freight and purchased ball end Allen keys, removed (3) bolts from Oil filter cover.
I would like to add a note on this topic.
I had a spun bearing race on rear wheel of my /5 last year.

Thanks Guys, I think I get it now.
I was trying to grasp the glass bulb and pull out.
It seems that I should have been pulling out the black socket and bulb from the back, remove and replace...

Do you know if they pull straight out of the socket?
That is the back side of the assy showing the sockets.
I was unable to grasp the bulbs on the other side.
Is there something safe to soften op the corrosion. Maybe some contact cleaner?
I am looking to replace indicator bulbs in speedo assy. 1982 R100RT.
