  2. Sloppy shift lever

If the shift lever is "sloppy" as stated, it sounds like a loose grub screw causing the issues. The grub screw in my RS became loose about 2,000 miles after a spline lube. Pull the tranny back out...

    Check the Plug

Find the plug on the right side and make sure you didn't unknowingly disconnect it while you did the master cylinder. Keep us posted. :lurk
  5. Keep an eye on it.

If the seal is not dripping, I would just keep an eye on it. I had my pump rebuilt this last spring and ended up with a bad seal assembly. It had a steady stream leaking from it. The seal faces may...

    How many miles?

You did not state how many miles are on that shock. Most people will tell you that it is shot by 30,000 miles. I just put a Works Performance shock on my LT and the difference in ride is incredible....

    Parts Bike

I looked at that bike Sunday. It has been hit HARD! It was hit hard enough on the left to cause the bellhousing to crack on the right side from stretch. I told him he would get more if he parted it...

    K1600

Kevin was at bike night today at the Quaker Steak & Lube in New Berlin. Nice bike but I wouldn't want to wrench on it. If I can't wrench on it myself, I wouldn't be happy. :dunno

    Cruise Control

Don't mind the aftermarket wires or the extra cable. I have an Audiovox Cruise Control. Can't live without it.

    Connector Location

You will find the connector under the tank, left side toward the back. It can be hidden very well. Here it is on my K1100.

    Tires

My experience says it is the tires. I bought my LT first and loved the way this bike handles. A year later I bought the RS and disliked the handling to the point that I was considering selling it....

    LED's

For the background lighting only, the K75 will need 5 bulbs. I actually did all of the lights in my K1100 clusters with LEDs but you need to color match or you will get odd shades. I ordered online...

    Got It!

Picked up some fresh loctite on my way home. The toughest part of the job was getting yhr grub screw started back in the hole. Now to take care of the misc items like the clutch o-ring while I am in...

    Not that bad.

I just found out that I do not need to pull everything out of the tranny to get to the grub screw. That was my main concern. I should have this taken care of tonight.

My '96 K1100RS is developing the same issue although it is still shifting fine. I pulled the tranny today. Is there anything special I should know before opening the tranny up? Is this a case of the...

    Sorry I missed it.

My wife and I planned on attending as we were headed to Eau Claire on Saturday anyway. The weather down here forced us to cage it. See you there next year. :thumb

    Trailer Isolator

I wired my K1100 with a trailer isolator from NAPA. It is not cheap ($80) but runs the trailer directly from the battery to protect the bike. I put it in the rear glove box and used piggy back tabs...

    Heated Grips

    Check here:

This is what is on my '96 RS. They seem to transfer heat very well and give a bit softer feel. :)

    Tire Pressure?

Are you running the recomended pressure in the tire per Avon's web site? I had an Avon Azaro front cup on me following recomended pressures but it had over 8K miles on it. I switched to a Storm and...
