    I replaced my 1987 engine with a motor from a 1988. No problems.
    My 1987 out put shaft rivets let go at 265,000 miles.
    It was cheaper to replace the engine than replace the shaft.

    1987 K100LT Throttle positioning switch

    How do you test the TPS?
    I hear it click but how do i know the click is making something happen?
    Bike runs great but I smell fuel in the exhaust when I start it up cold.
