my recently aquired R100S came with a monster 120/90/18 on the back. It didn't rub on the swing arm (just), but has definitely been rubbing on the fender as the suspension was compressed.
yup, looks just like the one on my 100S.
I bought a large /6 tank of ibmwr.org.
I received several offers for tanks at various costs and in various conditions.
They are out there...
Thanks Joe, that is exactly what I need!
bugtussle, sorry for hijacking your thread.
while the handle bar experts are here, is there anything available that is slightly flatter than the S bar?
Thanks,
Peter.
Ive just stripped a 78 R100S down to the frame. The only special tools I've used so far are:
the 27mm socket (ground down) for the swing arm.
32mm spanner thing to remove the fork caps and...
that is one of the nicest bikes I've ever seen.

78 R100s
scjack - is that an original color?
I just picked up a '78 100s that is now silver but was originally red. I didn't think they made solid colors for the s in that year, just the smoke version....

If you have one, can you measure how wide your grab rail is at the widest part. I'm struggling to mount some bags I've rececntly bought and I'm wondering if I have an aftermarket grab rail or...
Long end up for reserve. I understand the confusion. The other end on my /6 does look kinda like an arrow or pointer.
put new points and condenser on, cleaned a bunch of ingition connectors and the problem seems to be gone. My guess is the condenser cured it.
Ran great on a 1 1/2 hr ride in the 90s yesterday.

Thanks Bruce.
Someone else (airheads) said the same thing. I snuck over to the dealer at lunch and they lightened my wallet by thrirty-something dollars for a new condenser and points. I will...
You know, I can't really tell if its side specific. It just runs at 50%. I've tried to identify a 'side' in the garage, but both heads and pipes burn and remove skin with equal ferocity. I have put...

I have a 75 R60/6 that is misbehaving terribly when it gets hot. It drops to 1 cylinder above about 3.5k revs and is not really safe to ride ÔÇô It runs,...
Did you ever fix this?
I am having a similar problem on my 60/6. Operates fine for about 30mins (less on warm days, more on cool days) and then starts missing over about 3500 rpm. Idles fine. I...
Just wanted to update - I bought the panasonic (the larger one) about 10 months ago! Works great and the fit was about perfect. Almost exactly the same size as the BMW battery it replaced. It was...

I've never tried them on my bike, but I do use them on my 71 911 valve covers (same concept, right-boxer, air cooled, german ;) ). 911s are known for leaking at the lower valve covers, and needing...
