    Renting in Italy

I have searched for rental companies, now I think asking everyone who has already done this, is the way to go. We will be flying into northern Italy, late September for 1 to 2 weeks on a rental....
  4. eraser

Go to an auto body supply shop, they can sell you an "eraser wheel" that goes on your drill. It will not harm the paint and will take off any decal and, I bet, any residue.

  5. ceramic connectors

My cheap plastic headlight connector cracked the last time I replaced a bulb. Where can I get a ceramic connector and did you solder the wires/heat shrink or another connection method?
    Thanks, Mick
  6. BTo23GT mounting

I used a heat gun, carefully, to warm up the tire before mounting, before that I could not get it on the rim. Use plenty of NAPA tire lube too.
So far the tires handle well, but then I am not doing...

Has anyone tried Shinko tires on the RT? I ordered a set, but they won't be installed until later on this year. I just mounted a set of Bridgestone BT023GTs and will...

    Final Drive Failure

I think we are being unduly harsh on Die BMW-Motorrad-Gesellschaft, they just needed a few years to sort out the glitch.

    Stalling problem, 2007 R1200RT

My 07 stalled exactly the same way a number of times. One of the NH BMW dealers advised me to stay away from the "seashell" brand of gas. I did, and it did not stall again for 15 or 20 thousand...

    Utility motorcycle ?

I have to agree with lkchris on what a BMW motorcycle is. When something goes wrong, fix it and keep riding.
I have put a lot of miles on my 1975 Norton. Upgrades, repairs, lots of maintenance, but...

All true, but, the first Shuttle explosion was primarily the fault of the politicians. The engineers advised against launch, it was way too cold for the seals on the SRBs, they knew it, and reported...

    Small bulb replacement 2007 R1200RT

What do I have to remove to access the small bulbs next to the headlights.
I don't want to remove anything I don't have to. I did a search with no results.
    This is a 2007 R1200RT.

Thanks for the info. The bike seems to be running smooth. A couple of the intake valves were a bit tight and adjusted correctly, that seemed to cut down on a slight vibration felt in the bars....

I am doing the 36K service and I guess the TWINMAX is the way to sync the beast.
Does anyone know where I can buy one of these in Mass or NH, or, are they available only by on line/mail order?
