My 2005 RT DRANK oil when it was new. At about 12k I went synthetic. It still was pretty oil hungry until about 20-25k miles. Maybe a quart over 6000 miles. If I ran it easy, it didn't use oil. ...

    Trans America trail: Tennessee

    Hey guys,

Two buddies and I are hitting the Tennessee portion of the Trans America Trail, planning for about Sept. 15, 2014.

Anyone done it and can tell me anything? It looks like a good...

Same for me. We likely have the same battery. I have almost two years on mine and it is strong and the bike fires right up.

Yep, I gotta agree. I bleed the old fashion way. I can reach everything on a bike and do it myself. I own a mity vac but just don't bother with it. The process is so simple that I've never seen...

I'm thinking along the lines of poster "ClassicVW" above. I said she didn't INTEND to cause this harm (the loss of a leg). That doesn't mean it was smart, or right. She did a stupid, unsafe move...

Why would Honda not want him to win and beat the record?

I too was rooting for him to make a record. Last year (and I might not have the details exactly right), he missed a record to place on the podium the first 5 races as a rookie, crashing out in race...

I saw the same color on my 2005 RT, which eventually cleared, but I don't recall how long it took. After that, changing oil at 6k intervals, it looks brand new each time (clear red).

The other thing that bothers me about the FPC is the intermittent nature. I would expect it to die and be done. But maybe it has a heat related causation, too.

When it refuses to start, spray some starting fluid into the snout. If it fires up (and dies), then you know you definitely have a fuel problem. I'd also suspect FPC given the rain you had.

  17. How do you remove the mirrors on a 2010 R12RT?

I realize this is a lazy post. I'm sure it is in the owners manual, or the net, or I could eventually figure it out. But I'm away from home, not near the bike.

My 2005 just had pop off side...

It seems they are much less, and I think regular maintenance (oil change) is likely the reason, or a substantial part of the reason.
