After each and every ride, I don't wash my bike(s), I detail them. I don't use a garden hose anymore though. Just a bucket of car wash / wax formula and a rag, and a couple of specialized brushes.

BRAVO.....BRAVO.....BRAVO....... :clap
For me, it's mainly a cosmetic concern. There's been a couple of times, I even removed most, if not all of the weights......and still didn't feel any problems with vibrations.
Chances are, within...
Yes......I should have stated 3 yrs. or 36K miles.....whichever comes first.
I've heard both good and bad about after-market warranties. Kind of a crap shoot at times!
The Metz Z6 that I had mounted / balanced on the rear rim of my '03RT was properly lined up with the valve stem.
BTW: Metzler's own website states that "most" tires are still within specs needing...
Speaking of extended warranties.......it was my understanding that BMW does not offer a "factory" extended warranty. It is 3 yrs.....no more.....no less.
What is being offered in the way of an...
I would think converting to conventional round bars on an RT would be a costly undertaking.
I do wish that RT's had a way of "fine tuning" the OEM bars to some degree.
Oops.....sorry, we're...
40 / 42 for me and my '03RT. :thumb
I just recently had a Metz Z6 mounted on the rear of my '03RT. It took 45g of weight in a row to balance it.
I did question the guy who did the work and asked why he didn't try to rotate the tire...
Change the oil yourself if the dealer "can't get you in" for a simple oil / filter change.
BTW: I'm using MOBIL 1 15w/50 in the engine of my '03RT and my oil / filter changes are now done every 5K...
I knew this already and should have mentioned it in my above post. I've been using the Wal-Mart SuperTech for over 17K miles now......and no problems what-so-ever. :clap
Also.....I've been using...
BMW INC. cannot void a warranty because someone chose to use a non-BMW oil filter.
I use a Wal-Mart SuperTech (house brand) oil filter (#ST3614) in my 2003 RT, and have now, for over 17K miles....
I started riding motorcycles at the tender age of 8 yrs. old. I'm now 50. First was a mini-bike with a 3.5 hp B&S engine in it. Beings that I had two younger brothers, it was my responsibility to...
The last time I took my '03 RT in for service, I once again, was very disappointed with the outcome.
Took it in @ 10K miles to have valves adjusted and TB's synched. After getting it back and...
I was checking out "another" BMW forum and was reading a thread about riders dropping their bikes. Things like turning in too sharply, simply losing their balance during low-speed maneuvers, etc.,...
Yup.....sure as shootin.....ya sound like a poser to me. :stick :D
I recently heard on the news, that the divorce rate in the USA, is fast approaching 58%. There was a time when I was pretty sure that my marriage was secure and solid. I also heard that more and more...
I just watched the "video" again for the 2nd time, to make sure that I really got a grasp on what was being said / done.
My conclusion is that it is just plain ole STOOPID! :wave
And.....if...
Hmmmm.....strange if not completely ineffectual video.
BMW is indeed....a very strange company...... :bolt
From the sounds of it, you've had problems no matter what brand of bike you've ridden.
Gloves, handlebars, grips, whatever.....ain't gonna make a difference for you.
Go see a doctor! :thumb
What you are hearing is about as normal, as normal can be for a BMW.
I have a 2003 RT. When I brought it home, the 2nd day I had it, I had it out in my driveway preparing to take off for a ride....
I just wanted to sincerely thank all of you that have responded to my post. I know that in today's society, things can get wacked out of shape at times. I know that I'm moving in the right direction,...
I used to watch Twelve O' Clock High as a kid. It was one of my most favorite shows.....well, that and Combat, and Rat Patrol. :clap
For my "cowboy fix".....I'd watch Gunsmoke. :thumb
since I've been on a ride. There are a bunch of reasons why, but I won't bore you all with them.
But.....I can feel the sense of loss in not just my heart and soul, but in my "collective being" as...
