I am shopping for a RT and want to know if I have to go with an oil head to get ABS or did any Air Heads come with ABS.
Thanks.

Ok then, thanks!
Same here, I couldnt find it online but the BMW dealer showed them, two nuts and two screws.
I need two of those rubber insulator/spacer/whatever things that go between the bottom of the OEM muffler and the frame.
BMW says they are no longer available. Any ideas?
Agreed, new springs are in order for both sides but stretching the original spring as a quick way to see the effect.
I have a suggestion, dont run very low on fuel and remove the worthless CAT.
I did and wooohooo much better performance and cooler engine too.
New idea, since the parts wernt available I tried a different approach.
I took the tensioner out, measured the spring free length and stretched it 1/4".
Seems to be quieter now.
Thats great, where did you read that?????
The rattle I can live with. It's the specks of aluminum in the oil from chain contact I dont like. Sure the oil filter grabs them but only after the oil pump picks them up and they have been...

No doubt, but as Breeze said, my skill level didnt allow me to exceed 120. I felt ok there but was unsure about going any faster. If I could spend more time than just a few seconds at 100+ then I'm...
Found a spot of highway, could see horizon to horizon, no other vehicles... Decided to pretend I was on the Autobahn... Duck behind the fairing, twist till I see 6kRPM or 120MPH. :groovy :clap...
Lots of good info there, thanks.
Looks like I need to determine if I have the upgraded ACCT thingy. Come to think of it, the rattle seems to be on the left side...
1997 R-1100R, 33,000 miles.
At 3-4k RPM I get what sounds like a loose cam chain. Sounds like the chain is going slack and rattling against the case.
1. Is this unique or a known bug?

Hodaka? I had one too, an early 70's model. It ran fine but i got tired on the 1st to 3rd or 1st to 4th shifts. What a lousy shift mechanism they used.
Um, drag increases at the square of velocity. Double your speed and you quadruple air resistance (drag). So even slight decreases in speed give MPG improvements.

I did 1000 miles on my R-90/6. It was July, I almost couldnt take the heat and the tranny got balky shifting because of high operating temps. I maintained 90+ MPH for long stretches. Once it cooled...

I just gutted the CAT from my OEM exhaust. You're right, better performance.
I tried running it closed loop (O2 connected) and it the same as...

Access panel welding went VERY smooth, looks good too.
Runs fine with the O2 sensor connected or open loop (Techlusion).
Has a nice low sound but VERY quiet.

Ok you got me, I didnt do well in chemistry... But I do remember reading about the ozone harming gasses that were released, sulfer, co2 (carbon monoxide?) etc. Lots more than just ash came out.

unleaded gas, check.
The environment will do just fine if my bike has no CAT. The ECM will adjust just fine, trust me. CAT's arent even required on these bikes.
