  1. You just made my point but differently.

I don't care what the diameter of the original is at this point as my head is spinning with the latest ghost.

I see what you are trying to say and you are right. I should know this but I guess...

I disagree. I also don't know what diameter the original is and I doubt I want to take it apart until I actually have a new one in hand.

The smaller diameter piston will displace a specific volume...
  3. Air leak

Spray a little WD-40 around the throttle bodies and connections to the intake manifold. Any change in RPM will be a clue.

It's not very sophisticated but a simple place to start.

I should mention the steel fittings were rusty...................

The rear seems to be a bit of the problem now. I had to rebuild the rear end so I figured since I was there I would rebuild the...

I think the front is pretty good. Squeeze as hard as you can and the gap is only 1/4".

The rear seems sloppy to me still. Found out this is a European bike imported to Canada and therefore, not...

After I vacuum bled, I did work the handle bar to the left and got some itsy-bitsy bubbles from the front M-Cyl but there wasn't much change in the firmness of the lever.

    I'm pretty satisfied that...

I vacuum bled, no risk of air entering the system. As long as the piston had fluid, no problem. My concern was that after I was done, I was expecting a much more "reactive" feel to the pedal and the...
  9. 1987 K75S, non-abs, M-Cyl's seem weak, spongy maybe after flush and bleed.

Both master cylinders on this bike had black brake fluid in them. I flushed with good DOT 4 until empty then cleaned the reservoirs to within an inch of their lives. Installed Spieglers as the...

I know why the British don't make computers; they can't make them leak oil.

I gotta get me a jar of universal replacement smoke.

As one of my old bosses drilled into my head, "grounds, grounds and then check them again". I'm pretty confidant that I'm not dealing with a ground problem.

    1987 K75S, wonky tach.

I'm getting closer to getting this boat anchor back to form. I got all the wiring and electrical systems working and was ready for a start up. She fired up quite nicely without the high idle lever...

In a pinch, you can clean injectors with Brak-Kleen. It's not one of my standard routine recommendations but it doesn't really hurt them any. It will displace the water and won't hurt the filters...
  15. Could be a tough one to find without good tools.

Right away, you never mentioned checking fuses. I would do that first. After that, no spark and no fuel injectors would lead to the HES but they are expensive and you can see signal from it with a...

Nope, I see the threaded hole but nothing else there. I guess I'm going to put a grease nipple in it and call it the throttle bearing enhancement service point.
  17. Sorry for the hijack of this thread and I can post photos as mine goes back together.

Really??? I need to know what kind of exhaust flange bearing paste it needs and where it goes!!
  18. Cable good, mechanism, rack and pinion cleaned and lubed.

Throttle Friction Screw????????? Is that like a muffler bearing or using summer air for your tires? Or is it way worse, like a loose nut behind the handlebars?

    I can't find a description for it...

    That's a really good one.

Been hooped on more than one occasion forgetting the fuel cap vent. You would get good pressure on a pressure test but it would drop ever so slowly on flow after you displaced a good volume of fuel...
  20. If you can wait, I am about a week away from assembling my K75S harness.

I can take pictures as I put it together. I didn't take pictures when I took it apart but I used a "White-out Pen" and colored ties to mark everything for re-assembly.

Right now, I'm not having a...

Wix 33032 is the fuel filter.

It's aftermarket, cheap, easily obtainable, fits a ton of Beemers, Wix 33032.

You described a classic fuel filter issue.

I'd go with the fuel filter first. There certainly is more but that's the simplest solution and the easiest.

I knocked mine out and took them to a bearing house. They matched them from the little tiny numbers you can't read. They weren't from a country that now owns Hong Kong and had a good name on them....
  25. All due respect, but, you are way above "the right oil" posts.

Sorry for the edit of your original post but everybody here can read what you wrote without me repeating it.

You can broaden your distinctions to Group II and Group III basestocks and it has...
