intake and exhaust, left side
I just had to replace two valves at 63,000 miles. When I asked the mechanic what would cause this problem he stated as long as good maintenance was practiced it was hard to tell, someinmes a lot of...
Thanks to all.
I went to Harper's harware store in Richmond Va with the bolt. They provided the correct tap (metric #6 /0). Oiled the tap and gently screwed in by hand
Everything then went...
Length of screw that fits into valve cover is 3/4 inch long. The threads that are stripped are only 1/16 inch deep. If I can get pass this first 1/16, then all is well.
When installing valve cover guard on my 1995 R1100R I mangeged to strip a few threads in valve cover. I realized problem after one full turn of screw. I extracted screw easily but now the screw will...
I am going to replace both shcoks on my 1995. I have heard good things about the Hyperpro series.
Any commetns or experience with Hyperpro would be appreciated.
Update June 5
I went with the Suburban machinery set
Ride is much better, more comfortable, less fatiquing
Install is easy, requires only needle nose pliers to remove & install cotter pins...
I beleive I have read there is a kit that allows the foot pegs to be lowered
Does anyone have information on how to obtain?

It became obvious problem was inside fuel tank and I did not have time this month so the bike went to Morton's in...
I removed seat and side panel. The leak is definitely coming from the "overflow tube" from the gas tank. I cannot tell where the tube enters the tank (I had hoped to resolve without removing tank)
I recently purchased a 1995 R1100R with 18k miles. I immediately had problems with fuel light (staying on when full, not coming on when empty, etc) The BMW mechanice diagnosed fuel light as fuel tank...
Discussed problem of fuel light with mechanice at Mortons BMW, Fredericksburg Va. His first question was if a vacum could be forming in tank. Yes it could, when I popped the fuel latch a "swish"...
I started to look for an attachment that would explain how it easy it is to build a stand that would allow you to lift, turn over & shake the bike (warning tank should not be more than 1/2 full...
Sorry for confusion.
I filled up a few times during first 200 miles with no problem.
After the first few fill ups, problems began with fuel light and progressively got worse.
Hoping it is a...
I hope it is that simple
I just purchased a 1995 R1100R with 18k miles. After driving for about 200 miles fuel light began to come on when tank was about 1/2 full. Now light stays on continually, even after fill up.
