Auxillary Lighting Suppliers
I have a 2011 R1200RT. I want to have the best front and rear lighting that I can get. I have read many threads about H4, H7, Ostram, Silverstar, PIIA, LED, Modulating tail lights and head lights, etc., etc. I am very confused when it comes to lighting. This will be my first experience in aftermarket lighting on any motorcycle. I want to upgrade the OEM lighting as well as add auxillary lighting.
Given the above, I would really like to talk to a knowledgeable supplier. Someone who can keep it simple and basically give me a few choices, not lots of choices! I don't mind spending the money to do it right. Does anyone have any recommendations? Are most lighting systems plug and play? I like tinkering with engines, carbs, suspension, etc., but I hate dealing with electrics. So, I would like to find a system that is pretty straight forward. If not, I guess a dealer install would be my next option unless someone is familiar with lighting specialist in Ohio or any states east of the Mississippi.
DDM Tuning HID upgrade kit.
As for headlights, I recently replaced my low-beam bulbs with the Dual 55W HID setup from DDM Tuning http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DDM-35W-55W-Dual-Motorcycle-HID-Kit it was $50, shipped directly from China. Took about 2 hours to install.
I went with the 8000K color temp bulbs, so they're pretty close to fluorescent-bulb white (bright white slight blue). As for results, they are SO bright that I cannot see the high beam making much (if any) difference when it is on.
