Saturday, 10/13, does work for me, actually! So far...only issue would be for my son's soccer schedule, which I don't have yet. But I will pencil that in!!
Drat! I totally forgot about fall soccer. I am assistant coaching my son's team again this fall. This past spring all of our practices/games were on Sunday, so I think I will be good to go for Saturday the 13th.
So how about:
1. Breaficks before the ride.
2. Ride to Gettysburg/tour the battlefield.
3. Cashtown Inn for lunch.
4. Winery for tasting/cigars
5. Union Cigar Shop
6. Ride back.
Of course always flexible on the schedule. I believe in a NO DRAMA ZONE. :laugh

Interested
I would also be interested. Would prefer a weekend date, though. I'd be coming in from Pittsburgh, so would have to do an overnight.
I,too, went on this years MOA tour (though I did the optional Antietam tour). What a great event!
I'm up for a cigar, too!

Cool. So then the weekend of the 13th?

Can people from NJ get in on this?
It's a 3 hour ride for me, when the details settle maybe a Friday and Saturday night hotel stay is in the cards.
I organize a tour with friends to Harpers Ferry, Antietam, and Gettysburg in June each year. Get only one day in Gettysburg though a weekend sounds good.
Thread bookmarked for updates...

Gettysburg is my hometown and still live local. :wave
13 Oktober looks good for now. I hope I remember to check back....

This ride sounds great, but weekends are really tough for me. Anyone interested in a mid week tour out there?
I love Gettysburg in the fall. No tourists either.
Not sure I'd say that. I bop down there a couple of times a week year 'round and have never seen NO tourists. Just fewer.

OK thanks for correcting me.

I would be interested if the timing works out for me.

Any update on this ride proposal?

This area was one of the first stops on our big Great Lakes loop last month. There's a nice collection of good roads in the area around the Cacoctin / Camp David area in Maryland not far from there. We camped at the Artillery Ridge Campground - a big RV park but with a nice secluded place in the very back for tents that had a pavilion with picnic tables and power. If you guys aren't familiar and ask I'd be happy to shoot you some GPS tracks for the area.

I just saw this thread again and will try and pop down. I guess I've driven or ridden past the Union Cigar Club 500 times and never noticed it. Thanks.

Is this going to happen? I'd be happy to lead a ride or suggest routes.

Sorry all I didn't update, been out of commission after some knee surgery, so I have been out of the saddle. Would love to do something still.
