Food Vendors @ the 2011 Rally

I hope this year someone has contacted the following vendors:

My intent is inquirering about the small individual vendors that might provide these specialties and not interested in a certain (name with held) large food provisioner...without these local vendors then IMHO the Pa. Rally ain't real deal !!

Example: When I attended the Redmond Rally..there was a vendor hawking what was supposedly a certain Pa. City named cheese steak..when I asked what where the ingredients or what cheese they where using..all I got was a dumb look...

Lets support the real deal and provide local cuisine as an unique experience to this years Rally.

While each of those listed are excellent representatives of Philly food, they are all manufacturers, not vendors. It would be up to the vendors to request their products from their suppliers.

Correction: Genos would be the exception as that is a restaurant. However, there are argueably other cheese steaks to be had and what they consider a cheesesteak in that area of often not what we think of in Philly. For example, in the Reading area, a steak sandwich includes pizza sauce and cheese unless otherwise specified.

I don't think Geno's plays away games but that would be awesome--I've been known to make the 110 mile ride to his place just for one whiz wit.

Your enthusiasm for local specialties is outstanding!

But for me, even w/o any of the above, the Rally will be the real deal. :thumb

[url]http://www.oldforgebrewingcompany.com/[/url] They maybe involved with our Rally.Their brew house is 10 miles south and they have a real Bavarian meister ! Their historical building and street will be hopping during our rally since Danville will be having their Heritage Days Event ( Home of the T Rail ) with lots of additional food and music.

There is a new brew pub opening in Bloomsburg but I do not have any information. But its in a college town. :lurk

Back to food and for our healthy eating crowd, just north and west of the rally a farm is having an organic food fest. Great riding to get their...............and more info forthcoming.

In all the nationals I have attended, I never had to starve. Some did have better food vendors than others but all are good.
I never bring my own food and only use a folding cooler for beverages at the campsite.
If you know me you know I have no aversion to eating! My waist size can attest to that!

The Inn at Turkey Hill should have its brew pub up and running by spring time. Turkey Hill offers fine dining and lodging. It is about 10 minutes from the rally site and off I 80 and rt 487. Marley's Brewery & Grill should be opening soon. Marley's has ran help wanted adds in the paper. They do not have a web site yet, street address is 18 West Main Street Bloomsburg, PA

There are many places in Bloomsburg that have great food. If there is not a shuttle running into town, opening the pedestrian back gate would be a good idea for those that do not mind the short walk into town. For the last two years there have been street food vendors for the after hours crowds. They do a brisk business.

Every little town has its own special dinner.

Forksville has the Forksville General Store Home of "Big Mike's Steaks & Hoagies" [URL="http://www.forksvillestore.com/"]http://www.forksvillestore.com/[/URL] Big Mike put on a great show, if you can get a seat.
+1 on the Berwick Brewing it is a brewgarden (you set at picine tables) locatied it the old Myer bakery overlooking the Susquehanna river.
The list goes on and on, and I have deverged from the topic of Food vendors @ the Rally.

I have never been to a Rally so I have no idea how to feed 10,000.:scratch
Will the only food avaible at the Rally be provided by mobile concession stands?
Will any of the permanent eating facilities at the fairgound be opened?

And I have had about half of that list, out here in California, because it's eastern European. In fact, my mom has a killer borscht recipe.

Is hot bologna anything like the "bbq sausage" that Arthur Bryants in KC sells (which seems to be pit smoked bologna)?
