User Control Panel (CP) Explained

All - Below is a detailed walk thru of the various options and functionality of the User CP (Control Panel). It was created for you to have a better understanding of the systems and controls available to you.

As a new user you should be aware of the various controls, options and set ups for your profile.

You do the managment of these various options and criteria by the USER CP (User Control Panel)

Mouse over the button ([COLOR="Lime"]Highlighted in Green [/COLOR]with a [COLOR="Blue"]Blue arrow[/COLOR]) and double click.

Moderation - [U]not applicable [/U]and not utilized in this version of VBullitine as there are other tools used to moderate

In this section you can edit your details, email address and your password.

In the highlighted purple area you have the [B]mandatory[/B] fields that need to be filled. If you want to add or modify your email or password click on the [B]Edit Email and Password [/B] button, a new webpage is loaded for you to make the changes.

For the Optional Field options see below - PLEASE NOTE that this information can be viewed by forum members

The last section of your profile deals with more information about yourself

In this page you can set the level of privacy you want for a host of options:

Each catergory above has a pull down menu to set the access level for each parameter. These access levels are:
[LIST][*]Everyone[*]Registered Members[*]Your Contacts[*]Your Friends[/LIST]

Profile pictures are small pictures of yourself, which are displayed within your user profile.

You can get a picture from the internet - the first option ([COLOR="Blue"]blue arrow[/COLOR]) will allow you to access a picture from your computer.

Please ensure that the picture size meets the requirements if not it will not be displayed.

The maximum size of your custom image is 300 by 300 pixels or 97.7 KB

To add or delete Contacts or Friends click where the [COLOR="Blue"]Blue arrow [/COLOR]is pointing.

If you have made friends already they will be displayed here. ([COLOR="Lime"]Green Arrow[/COLOR])

To make any modifications follow the simple instructions shown with the [COLOR="Red"]Red arrow[/COLOR].

From the User Panel select SOCIAL GROUPS ([COLOR="Blue"]Blue arrow[/COLOR]) to manage your groups

What is a social group?

A social group is a group of people usually with a particular interest or something else in common. It provides a way of communicating between members as well as sharing photos or other images.

You can get to the list through the 'Group Memberships' section on your public profile .

The Social Group's list page displays all groups that have been created. You can list the groups by the number of members, messages or pictures, the group name, when the group was created or by the date of the most recent message posted. You can use the controls provided to search for a group.

How do I join a group?

To join a group, click the group title ([COLOR="Blue"]BLUE ARROW[/COLOR]) then click 'Join Group' (next Image). When you have joined a group, the group name will be shown in your public profile.

[COLOR="Red"]NOTE - You must be a logged-in, registered member to join groups.[/COLOR]

If you want to have a discussion with the group ([COLOR="Blue"]blue arrow[/COLOR]) - click on the [COLOR="Lime"]green arrow[/COLOR].

Can I create my own social group?

As a registered member, you can create your own social group (providing the administrator allows this). Go to the groups page and click 'Create A New Group'. ([COLOR="Orange"]Orange arrow[/COLOR]) and it will take you to a new page

Complete the title ([COLOR="Blue"]Blue Arrow[/COLOR]) and description for your group then select the type ([COLOR="Orange"]Orange Arrow[/COLOR]).

There are three types of groups ([COLOR="Red"]Red Arrow[/COLOR]):
[LIST=1][*][B]Public[/B] - open to everyone. There is no restriction on who can join or who can post messages to it [*][B]Invite Only[/B] - require an invitation to be sent to join them. Invitations can only be sent by the group creator or forum moderators and administrators. Invitations are sent by clicking 'Pending & Invited Members' at the bottom of the page for that individual group [*][B]Moderated[/B] - open to everyone to join but messages need to be moderated before they will appear. They are moderated by the group creator and the site moderators and administrators[/LIST]

You can manage pictures or albums on your control panel with the following steps.

To access the picture and album section click on the PICTURE & ALBUM section in your User Control Panel, indicated by the [COLOR="Blue"]blue arrow[/COLOR].
