Yeah, I am torn....the previous owner was really proud of the paint job (spent $600 on it he said) and the girls oddly enough do seem to like it. It's one of a kind for sure. I guess I will make the decision a little later. I am rebuilding the clutch right now which is the only thing that really needs to be done on it.....already rebuilt the heads and a whole lot more. You will never have to figure out where you parked your bike when you go to rallies.
No one will ever steal it.
If someone did steal it, it would be really easy to trace.
Here is a shot of my 'ol RS.
Winter in Iowa.
I start up my bikes every now and then in the winter, yes I know the arguments against it....but, I cannot stand the thought of those pistons just sitting there! Too much snow to ride however.
Nice bike! Is that a R100S sans "S" fairing?

Thank you. Yes, I call it an 'S' that's been 'RT'd.
A little research found that the fairing replacement and new, set back bars were a dealer installed option.
Very comfortable ride, with the 'S' performance.
My first Airhead
Look what followed me home 2 nights ago. Should I keep it? :newtoy

Absolutely, but is it broke?
love of my life ....
Best and most wanted bike I've ever had :
R 100 RS
Absolutely, but is it broke?
Nope, runs like a dream. I took a long lunch so I could take a ride. The weather here in Florida has turned cold, mid 40's (sorry if you're sitting up north waiting for the drifts to melt :nyah) so I keep the ride short. I'm going to the BMWNEF Winter Rally next month near Jacksonville, FL, and now have to pick between the Airhead or the Oilhead. Oh, how will I every decide :ha

I saw that trailer, for a BMW usually a bad sign.
Actually I alternate on a weekly basis between my airhead and K bike (weather permitting of course).
Either one would be absolutely dependable on a trip but K bike offers best protection.
Each is unique and so much fun. You're going to love the choices.

It wouldn'd fit on the GS rack :laugh
....and scenery! At least in a lot of the pics the background is amazing! Check out the first page of this thread and the R90S. Wow! This shot of my ol' RS is mundane....but, I have others that are far more interesting. Cannot post right now. Of course, I like the bike pics just for themselves also. All the bikes, be they pristine, rough, or somewhere in between. Not long ago, I saw an old faded R90S that was parked at a cafe, the paint was well faded and the bike had a patina of age, still ,looked well kept and ready to rumble! It had an out of state tag so apparently it was a well traveled bike. I loved it. Wish I could have spoken with the owner..... Here's another shot of my old '78.
