As ridiculous as all that crap looks, there is no doubt that a Beemer makes for a better chopper than a Harley does. Not to mention the ability to run for 25 miles without something falling off of it.
Finally doing some shakedown rides after the long slumber this bike has been in. Trying to roll the odometer to 21K this week.
did a ride w/out the sidecases which were not on the bike when I rescued it...bolted them on to see if it works for me. The Windjammer is def not going back on.
The previous days first ride past my gate since this 74 75/6 got a new start after many many years of sitting in the barn.

A very handsome motorcycle indeed.
Welcome aboard Bil. We're riding pretty much the same bike, down to the Brown's side stand.
Where did you score your tank cover? I haven't seen any like it for years. I have a not-so-pretty big tank that it would be the perfect cure for.
I found it on eBay. I think it was made by Mustang. I have a nice toaster tank underneath but I like the cover to protect it plus I like the look.

Nice Rig
Looks very close to mine. What are you using for tires, and what is your tank bag?
Peter
Looks like you have a Havana Gold color on your R75/7. I am just finishing up another one like yours. It had been in storage for 20+ years.

This is the before picture. The bike's in the middle of a refresh. New coat of paint and some other goodies. I'm going outside the BMW box on the paint :-)
Sun came out on a Friday afternoon in the PNW, so I played a lil hooky from work, finished bleeding the front brakes, slapped the plates on and took her out for the first spin after the rebuild.....loved the sensation when you hit the gas and your butt presses back into the cafe seat pocket...this baby is fun to ride!!
another shot from Skyline Drive
My new paint job was inspired by the BMW Special European Paint on some of the Mystiks overseas. My dog wanted different colors.
love the custom seat, Twin fan...sweet bike!
