Point of order! In your sig block are you listing this Awesome GSA as a '13? I bet its a typo. Anyway, nice new machine! Go out and it dirty and you will have real fun! -Ed R.
As you got me all curious, I inquired with the dealer if my GSA was indeed a 2013. Here is the response from A&S:
[B][I]"Yours is a 2013 and when the 2013 water-cooled R1200GS's get here next summer they will probably be 2013 Model Year also.
People will probably refer to those as 2013.5 just to keep it straight like the 2005.5 KTM950 ADV.
Calling that new model a 2013 and not 2014 MAY have something to do with Federal Emissions requirements but that's just a guess.
There won't be a 2013 water-cooled ADV, so 5 years from now a ADV will just be like your 2013 bike."

I recently sold my beloved 2002 1150RT with about 70,000 miles. I had severe seller's remorse and tried to buy it back, but no deal. So I bought this little number yesterday. A 2009 with 9,300 miles on the odometer. I rode it home from Durango, CO, to Ogden, UT. It's a great bike, but I would have been happy with the 1150RT back.

Al: give yourself a few months with it; I don't think you'll be looking back.

I just went through the same separation anxiety when I sold my 2002 R1150GS. Have had my 2012 R1200GSA for a month now and we are beginning to bond! I suspect in another 3 months I will be very happy I made the change. Funny but just like women we tend to only focus on the positives of prior bikes and forget the warts. :D

Being Dutch, I tend to focus on the negatives, so my transition from the 1150 to 1200 was easy. :D
But my RS was, overall, a wonderful bike.
Having been married three times, the warts are always there. They get smaller in time but having found my angle, I know what true happyness is. I had to kiss a lot of frogs to find this one but almost 12 years of bliss shows that sometimes three is the charm.
#1 is still single after 25 years and #2 is on her fifty husband.
My new to me 2011 Camhead. The color is thunder grey, although it looks almost black in the photo.

It will never be this clean again...
My 2012 RT in Saint-Antoine on the Richelieu, Quebec, fall of 2011.
Here's my 09 RT. Bought in December to replace my 1150RT.
She has 16500 miles and came with a handful of upgrades like HID headlights, auxiliary lights, GPS mount which i put my 660 on, and the GS mirrors. I've already added suburban lower foot pegs (being 6'6" this was absolutely necessary), and have a cee bailey windscreen in the mail. Next is a ride up to see Rick Mayer to have him build me another seat (I loved the seat he did for my 1150RT)
