It came off just fine but replacing it has been problematic. I have it on the tail rack, the electrical connection is reattached however when I try to turn the round lock on the floor of the topcase, it only goes so far and will not 'lock' in place. (thereby retracting the orange warning tab below the keyhole on the outside of the case).

Any suggestions on getting to turn into the 'locked' position? Even though I can't get it to lock, the case is on the rack securely and can't be lifted off... :scratch

He has zero R1200R's, 2-3 R1200GS's, and no single model has as many examples on hand as the K1600GT.

Since the K1600's are the "flagship" model, and start at stratospheric prices, I would expect inventory to be thinner. I'd expect more F700GS bikes, for example. This fact, plus the various sales incentives on the K1600's, make me think they are not selling as well as mother BMW expected.

Anyone have any sales figures?

90% of my riding is two-up. We are considering a pop up camper to tow to rallies. My wife has never camped and we'll see how sleeping on the ground goes at the RA rally.

Questions I would like to have answered.

Weather protection for the passenger on the GTL? She sits up higher and loves that, but what about rain?
towing capabilities. I'm sure The GTL would handle it better, but am I ok to tow a $250 lb trailer with the RT.
I'd like to hear from anyone who has made this swap. Regrets? Content?
