My bike started with the intermittent dash warning light for brake pads around 8K miles, and finally went steady last fall around 15k.

I changed the brake pads this spring (front left pads were thin, but they are the only ones without the sensor), fiddled with how the wires were secured, and the light didn't go off. Finally concluded that the wiring was bad......I snipped both front and rear wires near their respective connectors, soldered and heat-shrinked the ends, verified circuit continuity, and re-installed. Dash light is still on.

How does the dash light get reset? Will GS911 do it (I have one arriving in the mail tomorrow), will it reset itself after a few start/stop sequences, or is this a dealer-only reset?

Anybody using this oil vs. Castrol or BMW oil? Want longer term opinions if possible. Several folks including my self using this oil in vintage bikes that share one oil for clutch and engine.
Thanks

I have few regrets after moving from a V Star 1100 classic cruiser to a K1300GT. The BMW is more powerful, has much better torque and the accessories (cruise control, heated seats, adjustable windscreen etc.) are fantastic. The only problem is that owning a discontinued model, especially one that had a short production run, means limited aftermarket add-ons. One thing I miss is the highway pegs that I had on my V Star. After a few hours on my K13, I wished for a second position for my feet.

Thankfully, one of our own has come to the rescue. A fellow K1300GT rider, Ken Estrada from New Mexico, has designed a great set of highway pegs just for the K1300GT. They are machined out of aluminum, easy to install and work great! If you are interested in learning more about these wonderful additions to the K13 or ordering a set, contact Ken at kenestrada@msn.com ? you?ll be glad you did.

My 07 GT is is need of it's 1st battery change. I've been looking in the forums and on the Repair Manual CD, but can't seem to find anything on the removal procedure.
It looks straightforward enough ... take the cover off and remove the 2 screws holding the battery in place, then disconnect the terminal leads.
Anything I should be aware of and should one lead be disconnected 1st and connected 1st?
I always worked on my 85 RT, but I feel nervous with the new GT.
Could use some advice, or and point in the right direction. Thanks
