Can anyone give me a step by step to change the air filter on my R1200s?

The air filter is located on the right side of the bike.

I have an RT and need to remove the right side plastic to access, on the S it should be easier.

Once you located the Air Intake snorkel follow it to the main airbox - it will be loacted in front of the seat and behind the tank.

There will be two clips one on top and one of the bottom of the where the snorkel connects to the air box.

Depress the clips and slide them out - they do not come out completely.

Then pull on the snorkel end and the air box end.

Note there is a plastic nipple connection on long portion of the snorkel that mounts on the frame.

Pull off and then you will see the air filter.

Here is a picture of my bike with the plastic removed, if you look over the top of the right cylinder you will see the long black tube - this is the snorkel - hopefully with the picture you can understand my instructions better.

Thanks for the reply.

I had a feeling that's where it was.

Wish me luck

Yep...what he said. I replaced mine with a K&N filter. Right side tank cover/fairing has to come off. Pretty straight forward from there.
