I need some input from the members of this list, please. I am currently contemplating upgrading my RT to a GT (there is a great deal on a 2008 fully loaded demo bike at my dealer's). Any experiences regarding the differences between the R1200RT and the K1200GT? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

Two totally different bikes. The RT is your typical bmw Boxer low end torque great motor and suspension. The RT is the all around great bike.
The GT goes like a r*ped Ape. It is fast, you are by the car you are passing before you even think about it. The seat is longer if you are riding with a passenger. The wind protection is less than on an RT. The engine braking is non existant below 6000 rpms. Did I say it was fast ? It is very smooth.
It is fast, handles well and is an awesome motorcycle.
