View Full Version : The Strange Seat Fabric

I took my R1200R on my first trip and instead of the normal morning dew on the seat which would wipe off, found the seat to appear dry. But when I sat on it, it was wet. The fabric has some sort of sharkskin texture and appears to hold water that only a blot with a heavy paper towel will remove. Is there anything I can spray on the seat to repel the water? Or should I just get a mini cover and put it on at night?

I'm using an " E-Z touring" "shower cap" w/good results :thumb

I've never found it to be a problem.. although usually I do use a Kwikover http://www.kwikover.com/ when the bike is outside and not moving.
The dampness doesn't get through the Goretex in my Aerostitch. It does seem to dry rapidly once moving (air flowing over it..)

I've haven't had a problem either. I work mid shift (11:30 p.m. to 07:30 a.m.) and there's sometimes heavy dew on the seat when I come out in the morning. I just wipe it off with some paper towels.
