View Full Version : 1200 RT Suspension Settings

Anyone have any suggested settings for preload and dampening for an RT? I'm looking for settings for solo aggressive riding (without bags), solo highway cruising (with bags loaded) and two-up cruising (135 lb. passenger and bags loaded). Thought someone with more experience with the bike could save me a bunch of trial and error.
I do not have the Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA).

I've had my RT for a year now. I've got 15,500 miles on it. When I want to ride the twisties I select the sport setting and single rider. I weight 255 and I get a good road hugging ride out of that set up. When I have my bags on (I have the large trunk) I select two riders and comfort and that gives me a good ride. I've used that setup on a few iron butt rides I've been on and I seem to stay comfortable and don't get beat up by the road. When I take along company (130lbs) I select the normal ride with two up and bags. depending on the load in the bags I some times find it necessary to adjust the headlight to the lower position. I hope this helps
