The Rider Information Display on my '05 GS is too dark to easily read 80% of
the time (during daylight). Bright sunlight is the worst.

Does anyone else have this problem and is there a solution?

I've tried leaving a lit candle by it, but as you can imagine, that doesn't work very well!

Thanks,

Oookay, so no one else has this problem?

I guess that I'm off to the dealer or the Optometrist!

My '05 has no such disorder. Let us know if you find out anything from the Dealer.

You can adjust the brightness of the display. It's in your owner's manual.

Thanks, Dave!

I've read my manual from cover to cover twice and there is no mention of adjustment for the RID.

It does say that there is a sensor that controls the brightness based on ambient light. But no mention of adjustment.

I did stop by the Dealer on Saturday and asked them, but the "BMW Guy" wasn't in, so I received no help or advice.

Have you read about adjusting it in a '05 manual somewhere?

Thanks!

Same thing in my 07's manual, but I do not have any problem with reading the display day or night.

BTW this is my 3000th post. :blah
