I have a shock absorbing driveshaft I want to put in my 1978 swingarm, since a newer swingarm (off a 1982) will not clear the brakelight mount on the frame, reading a matt parkhouse article he stated that one could be modified to fit through the swingarm, does anyone know the specifics? or how to get the new style swingarm to fit?
any help is useful

I had an '81 swingarm on a '78 R100S. It fits except it does hit the brake switch in the extreme compression of the rear shock. I didn't see it as much of a problem. You can trim quite a bit off of the brake switch plate and make it work I think. I didn't and occasionally bumped the switch with normal springs on the Koni's back there but not with the heavy duty springs.
