Im checking to see if anyone has found a smaller size strap type tank bag that will fit my 84 R100/7. Im looking for one small enough to not interfere with the controls when turning lock to lock. I currently have 2 really nice Held Bags but they are a bit large. Also Ive already ruined 2 credit cards with the magnets on the base. In my search I came across this RKA (http://www.rka-luggage.com/pages/08tnkbag/2004newpics/minix%20window/ssminix.html) 7.5 liter bag that looks like its about the right size for me. Anyone have any experience with the RKA or something similar that you might recommend? Thanks for your input.

Get a BMW multivario.

One day it can be a small bag, next day a big one.

Fits like it was made for the bike, too.

That's because it was. It won't interfere with controls unless possibly if you've done something silly like barbacks in which case you get what you deserve.

BTW, there's no such thing as an '84 R100/7

"Big bike" models in 1984 were

R80RT
R100
R100CS
R100RS
R100RT

"/7" disappeared in 1979 on R100s, when the no-fairing model was renamed R100T. That changed to just R100 in 1981.

Yeah...I have one from JC Whitney...its a nice small strap on and it was a good price. Seems like it was under 30 bucks! Has a map window too. I dont really use it much, though, since I found a convertible one (forget the brand off the top of my head) it zips & unzips to expand. Nice feature. Its a strap on too.

Check out the tankbag from Rev-Pack. I us it to commute to work, small and effective, but not too small.

Thanks for the tips everyone. And Ikchris for the info on the model changes. My bike is the R100. Ive owned the multivario bag in the past and it is a good one. I was looking for something smaller and found one of these MOTO-PAK (http://www.motopakluggage.com/gtxmini.html) .
