I'm in the process of mounting a TourTank fuel cell on my '04 1150 GSA. Does anyone have a schematic of the fuel system showing which lines are pressurized and which are not? Is the crossover tube between the bottom lobes of the tank pressurized? I'm trying to do this using a gravity feed and really want to avoid fuel pumps, if possible. Thanks. :D

The crossover hose between the lobes on the bottom are not presurized and should be a neat entry point for a gravity feed. Just put in a T with a quick diconnect and you should be ready to go. How many gallons are you adding with the Tourtank??

It'll hold 3.5 and along with my 8 gallon main tank, I'll be within the max for IBA rides. That should give me about a 450 mile range.

Planning some long distance rides?? :thumb I hope you can stay in the saddle for 450 miles. I found that 350 miles at a stretch is the max for my 'heinie'. :D I have done 1K miles a day but, even with a Rick Meyer seat I was pushing the comfort zone a lot. This time I am getting an Alaska sheepskin for my bike. I found that it isn't just the seating area, but blood flow in your legs tends to get diminished a bit too.
Good riding!!

I found that it isn't just the seating area, but blood flow in your legs tends to get diminished a bit too. That is why I like a beaded seat. You wiggle around for a mini butt-massage and find you're seated on an entirely new set of pressure points while giving some blessed relief to the last set of pressure points.

Well, now that you mention it.....
I have gone 300 miles 7 or 8 times, and felt like I could easily do another 50 or so. I have an Airhawk on the stock seat, but may look at a Mayer or Russell. I'm curious about the beads. Maybe I'll give it a try.

an LD rider...doing the stand up dance while riding down the road at 80...
A GS is a great bike for this...
music blaring in your helmet...standing on the pegs...shaking your ass to get the blood flowing....
and trucks blowing their horns at you in traffic....
All at 80MPH....
just do it every hour or so....
so you can sit down quickly....... :wave

You are having waaaaaaayy too much fun on the road! :rofl :rofl
The beaded seat thingie may be a good choice too. The stock GS seat is actually not too bad for about 250 miles or so but after that my own 'final drive' :p wants to get a little warm and standing up may result in a ticket :dunno (I have to admit that I do stand up too) :bolt
You never know what motivates a LEO to pull you over other than taking a look at the bike.. :D

I was outside of Asheville, NC Sunday afternoon and got pulled over. I wasn't going fast or doing anything else to get in trouble
The LEO just bought a used '02 GS and wanted to see how I had mine set up. No harm done and we had a great conversation. They're not all jerks..... :bikes
