I posted this on the Airlist, but it seems appropriate here as well...
In 2000 at the AMA's Vintage Motorcycle Days I happened to catch up with the late Fred Taush and his (then) 590,000 mile R60/5. I had my video camera and got him talking about his bike (not hard to do :-).
There are two video clips. The first is 28 seconds and the second is about 6 and 1/2 minutes long. They are at:

I never did get Fred to tell me what Oak's theory on splines was, though :-)
