Touratech Spare Seat for R100GS PD

I own a 95 R100GS/PD with a single seat and a luggage rack.
I want to bring a pillion along for a long ride.
Is the Touratech spare seat the solution, is it comfortable for long rides?
If I get a dual seat, do I need to replace or modify the original luggage rack?

Your O.E. rack is two pieces so it can be taken apart and used for the solo or dual seat without mods.

The rack is sort of modular so you can position the lock/grabhandle in the front position or move it to the rear with the dual seat.

Not certain, but I would think the Touratech is for ocasional use. Probably depends on the passenger.
