I have a 2006 R1200RT with the radio. Dealer does not know how I can use a helmet speaker system with the radio. I remember magazine testers saying to use helmet speakers, but they did not have the adapter. Any help would be appreciated. Bob

How exactly does this gadget hook up to the BMW radio on the R1200RT? Does it run off batteries? If it doesn't run off batteries, how do you connect it to the radio without messing up the famous CANBUS system that appears not to permit any external devices to be connected to the bike?

Tap into the speaker wires for sound, and a switched power (accesory plug or GPS plug). It won't hurt the CAN BUS.

One tid bit I noticed on mine, when toggling through the systems input on the menue I notice accessory input, this is clearly something to come?
