Just purchased a new 1200GS. I have a rattle in the front. It is very noticeable when you hit a bump or just when you throttle to speed. I thought it was the windshield adjusting knobs. I have checked everything else up front nothing seems to be loose. Anyone else have any problems?
Thanks Saint Pete Phil

:dunno I guess the only thing to do is to keep looking for the rattle. :dunno
Does it sound like it is down by the wheel or up by the headlight?
Maybe a slow empty parking lot ride without helmet to help isolate where it is.
If you just got it, why not ride to the dealer to have them look at it.
Let us know when you find it.

It is near the headlight.

There is a thread over on the ADV Rider site that solves this problem.

It's the brackets holding the windshield. Slipping a couple of O rings over the brackets seems to solve the problem.

Go to advrider.com and look on the GS tread.

Go to www.advrider.com and look at the GS page. You'll find it.

I think they're putting them on the little black plastic stubs that mount to the bracket in front of the instruments.

I've actually had those screws come loose and make the shield rattle.

Yes, GSJay and Phil pointed me toward ADVRider and that seems to be it. I swapped my platic pivot parts for Touratech metal ones, so I don't really have that issuue.

Mine did what yours did leaving the OMMT 2 years ago. They actually both fell completely out (the OMMT was VERY rough that year) and the wind shield pivoted back flat. Luckily a "local" hardware store on the Quebec/VT border had bolts of the corrrect size and pitch.
