I am trying to mount a set of Hella FF50s on my new R1200RT, but have not seen any commercially avaliable mounts yet. Anyone got any home fabricated mounts? It does not look like under the oil cooler has enough room in event of the suspention compressing fully.

I saw the R12RT-P at the San Jose show and there are some neat mounts coming for that bike. They mount to the bottom of the mirror pods.

I'm waiting for those.

Hank, just drill some holes in the fairing. You tend to keep your bikes till the wheels fall off anyway. :laugh

Go to "www.adventurersworkshop.com" and look at the (Excel Header Bolt Light Mounts for BMW Motorcycle). I removed the mirrors on my R1200RT, and bolted the mounts to an existing bolt, and replaced the mirror. I then mounted a set of (Hella Micro DE Xenon Lights) to the brackets and wired them up. everything worked perfectly. If you have any questions or need to see pictures of the set up, lett me know.

Thanks Andrew, those look like they would work. I guess your mirrors don't inadvertantly pop off with the mounts. I was looking under the mirrors and trying to think of a way to rig a mount point there, but couldn't come up with something homemade. Do you recall how much they get for the Excel Header bolt mounts? There was not a price on the page, and I didn't have time to go thru the sign in-password rigamoroe to get to checkout. :hungover

And JON-Diaper Boy.. Thanks for your comments too! But I only kept my GS till 73K, and the wheels never fell off.... :wave
