My Oil Light stopped working on start up. There is plenty of oil in sight glass.
How do I test the switch or the light bulb?
Can I get this bulb at a local auto parts house or must I go back to the dealer?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I take it your bike is an R1100RT. You can remove the connector on the oil pressure switch and ground the wire to it. If the oil pressure light goes on, then the bulb is ok and you should replace the switch. If the bulb does not go on, then it is either the bulb or the wiring. I don't know what bulb they used for this, but remove it and replacements are generally available at any auto store and at the dealer. It probably is a 4 watt wedge type bulb, about the size of a large pencil eraser (are there pencils with erasers anymore...or just backspace keys?).

The light bulb is fine. I guess the switch is toast. Will order a new one in the morning. I guess there is no way to fix them.
