I noticed that our own Burnszilla had a touring tip printed in this month's ON. I thought it was a good one, too. Absurdly simple, like most good tips, but one that had never crossed my mind.

I really like this feature in ON, and I know they are soliciting submissions, so send 'em in. And thanks, Stephen--cool tip. :thumb

Is it the caribeaner tip? I don't remember what I sent in.
I haven't gotten my ON yet.

Of course I will.
I have a few more tips up my sleeve for later editions. :evil

1. Don't leave aluminum beer cans loose in your top case.

burnszilla, that tip freakin rocked. i smacked my forehead when i read it, in sheer jealousy for not having thought of it myself.

i gotta say, i sure wish ALL those touring tips were here somewhere on the website, where i could go scan them a few weeks before trips, instead of having to go flip through magazines to find them. (which i cant do, because i recycle my mags, i don't physically archive them.)

vince/scott, can that be done?

I know how you know. Kbasa documented it.

My topcase smelled like the basement of a frat house on a Sunday morning.

I aded a biner the day I read it. My God that made so much sense. Called my riding buddy and told him and he added one too. I've always hated that gas pump to front of store, where do I put my helmet shuffle.

Burnszilla, send it in! Remember to include your MOA number. Yeah, I learned that one the hard way, riding west-to-east thru Yellowstone once when they were repaving 110% of the roads in the park. My two remaining cans of beer opened themselves up and perfumed my unmentionables. :hungover

Actually I might have done the same thing... of course mine was with a can of soda ;)

Heh. The secret is to have the cans in a padded environment and not let them jiggle too much. Last year I rode home from Oklahoma with eight cans of beer in a tailbag- actually it was one of those big square Tour Master tank bags, which serve perfectly as tail bags once lashed to the seat as mine was. Anyway, they cans were upright and surrounded by plenty of stuff including some clothing. When I got home they were all intact and didn't even feel tight as if shaken.
