don't care for the BMW touring shield I now have.

Too much noise or not enough protection?

I have heard very positive things about GIVI shields, especially the one's with an turned up lip, it helps deflect it over your head... Check them out, you might find something that you like.

Sorry, too much noise and not enough protection I'm used to riding touring bikes guess I'm a little spoiled! Was wondering if the aeroflow would cause the bike to blow around a lot from trucks and cross winds?

Can't advise you on your R bike but I just put one on my 1200 GS and it is awesome. Went on a ride of ove 300 miles in the cold the other day, couldn't have done it with the old shield. Wind noise in my helmet reduced drastically also. Very satified customer.

Thanks for the reply's. I have been asking around and always seem to get the same answer. With the wind and noise protection I'm looking for aeroflow is the shield to buy. Thanks again

I just ordered an AeroFlow for my 12GS. Here's my thread about it in the Gear Forum (http://www.bmwmoa.org/forum/showthread.php?t=9349). Sounds like we have the same motivations.

I just put a Cee Bailey on my '98 R1100R and it looks great. I did a low speed test and it seemed to function well. If you're interested, I'll report back after a longer trip.

Sounds good to me. I appreciate any help since I only want to buy a shield one time !

I put an Aeroflow on my 2004 RT last summer. I now ride with the screen in a lower position that with stock, and while I still get some air flow on the upper portion of my helmet, it is not as turbulent as I remember with the stock (low) screen. I like the AeroFlow much better, particularly for long rides and do not notice any tendency for cross-wind buffeting.

I did find, however, that the Aeroflow screen seems to be more susceptible to scratching and hazing than the stock screen. I am very careful to wash it only with soap and water, but it seems pretty scratch-prone if you ask me. One thing I have found that helps is MeGuiar's Clear Plastic Detailer (available at most auto parts stores). After cleaning, apply the MeGuiar's with a soft cloth, then buff with a dry soft cloth. This treatment seems to give a clearer view through the screen.

I actually have a stock shield, C bailey and Aeroflow windshields.
the Aeroflow is my least favorite, It is too big and what you gain in wind reduction you lose big time with turbulance-buffeting on road from other vehicles. The C Bailey is narrower and I use it in the winter but still creates more turbulance than the stock shield. With the stock shield you get more wind but much less turbulance than the other two and when it is summer in Texas the wind that hits my shoulders and arms on my Firstgear mesh jacket is wonderful, but the downside is that you will get more bugs squashed on your faceshield.
