View Full Version : 1200gs
Just picked up a new 2006 1200GS yesterday from Tampabay BMW. Question is I bought a BMW Charger for my 1150RT. Will this charger work on my new bike? It is a advanced battery charger from BMW.I also was wondering does the miles till empty show up only when you hit reserve? The new bike is great. Shifting is alot smoother and the power is awsome. Only problem I have is keeping the front wheel on the ground in first gear.
Thanks Saintpete Phil

Congrats on the new GS! Those guy's in Tampa are a great crew. I live in Orlando and have purchased my last 4 bikes from them.
Your charger will work if you go directly to the battery.
Yes it will count down miles to empty.
Enjoy!! :thumb

Regarding your question on the display of miles until empty: yes, this display is ONLY available once you hit "reserve". It's explained pretty well in the owner's manual.

There's always one guy in every crowd that blows it for the rest of us MEN.
He admits in public he reads the owners manual.

Whoooooops, sorry, guys... :dunno
But now that the cat's out of the bag, I will tell you I tore right into that manual the night the GS came home, and it was a real page-turner, couldn't put it down.
BTW, I do not ask for directions!!
