Question for the Group;
Background:
My stock R100RS shield is to short. I have the +2 Clearview which gives more buffeting than the original, the original is actually quieter on the road (use ear plugs on both).
Question:
Anyone out there, (1) have an RS, (2) over 6', and (3) tried the Clearview +3? If so, does it raise the air level higher on your helmet???
thanks,

The Original looks the best and at 6'1" unless you you install a fugly tall one 3" won't make a difference. Go stock with earplugs!
I do not have experience with the R100RS specifically. I have had a number of sport bikes that I have changed the shield on to decrease buffeting and increase protection.
I did not have good luck with increasing windshield height. I am 6’5” and carry much of the height in my upper body. I was not happy with increasing the height from a look and a general performance standpoint. Looks aside as I increased height I had a marginal gain in protection while my passenger started feeling increased buffeting.
My best all around luck came with a shield that would do a good job of protecting my body while generally leaving my helmet in its own air stream. This actually gave me the best noise level. The passenger – normally my daughter – remained protected and comfortable.
When touring solo I would add a winglet that I used in rainy weather.
I hope you get a specific RS response. Good luck.

In link below you see the parabellum medium height windshield. It is not as slick looking as the stock shield, but it does a commendable job of deflecting the wind blast off the chest. Wind noise is still an issue unless you tuck behind the plastic, then it is just the motor. I was told that the tall windshield will solve the wind noise problem, but I am happy w/ the Medium. Below is a link to a thread I opened when my RS restoration just got done. Since then the bike has been anointed by rain and road gravel.

I have a "Laminar Lip" wind deflector on my stock 88 RS shield. It does a great job of bringing the wind flow up over my helmet. They used to be advertised in the BMW ON, it's too early in the morning for me to do a google search to see if they are still available. Sort of looks like a small car rear wing spoiler mounted to the top of your windscreen by adhesive.
Works fine for me.

That is my situation, exactly. I've got a "medium" Parabellum that works great on one of my RS's, and a stock shield on my other one. I like the stock shield for summer riding, the wind blast (for me) is no big thing.
Even though I'm 6'2", I doubt that I'd ever go for a taller shield than the Parabellum "medium".

I'm 6'2" and have a +2 windshield (don't know the make) on my 84 RS. I'm not so concerned with the buffeting, but rather with the wind noise. Don't think raising the heigth 1 inch will help. I have heard great things about the laminar lip devices to throw the wind stream up and over. BTW, I have a clear stock shield, but the dark +2 really looks good on a dark blue bike.

Thanks, for all the info. I tried the Parabellum tall on the RS, it did move the air over my helmet but just didn't look right, so when it got a stress crack I pitched it. Since I have the +2 Clearview, just wondered if the +3 would move the air up a bit more. I do wear earplugs, and the airflow with the stock shield isn't bad, and the RS does look cool with the stock shield, $136 will buy several tanks of fuel. . . . . . :D
Thanks, again.
