What?!? You got bad info. That's probably the shop center stand with a scissors-lift but even then it should run $600 or so.
There are a lot of slip-in stands for around $150 and under $100 used.
Wunderlich (BMW of Santa Cruz is the distributor):

I always wondered how they could give 20% off, order next day costing them another few % and make any profit. Now I see...
905 is marked up 8.06% from actual list (I checked with BMWNA) and then they take the 20% off that which amounts to 13.55 % off of real list.
And then I guess no shipping, but handling?

I've bought stuff from Chicago BMW (the local dealer doesn't stock squat for the cruisers) and the shipping and handling were reasonable, and the parts arrived well-packaged and timely.
I have a knock-off R1200C center stand, paid under $100. Works great. Got it from a fellow Chromehead. He was having them made in batches.

you had a fellow chromehead guy making aftermarket center stands for the R1200CLC. Care to share his contact info?

For info on the C and CLC stands, go to Chromeheads.org and look in the marketplace or vendor sections. Great info in there and great people also.
