I know this topic can open a can of worms on the topic of lubrication. Jokes aside; here goes...
I'm constantly getting calluses on my throttle hand. I wear excellent gloves: Helimot Buffalo 365's.

I end up cutting them off with a knife.
Anybody else get these?

I did. Look for wear the seams on the gloves are. Make sure they are not where the callouses are forming. If they are, try new gloves. You can also try just using hand moisturizer each night. :bolt

For warm weather riding I just buy a pair of those mechanics gloves you see in auto parts stores. They may not be the height of fasion but they were designed for actual working use and are comfortable. If it's a bit cool but not cold I wear deerskin gloves.
I'm a pragmatist about riding clothing. I don't worry about fashion, just comfort and keeping road rash away if I should drop the bike.

Fixed! :rofl
Sorry, I could resist :D
All kidding aside Brad has a point and perhaps you should look at some new gloves. Try to find gloves with a minimum amount of seems in the palm area. Held gloves are very good in that regard. Also the leather used is important as it has to be strong to give maximum protection and soft (palm side at least) for comfort.
Go to www.webbikeworld.com and click on gloves. You will find more info there than anywhere else.

I get them from lifting weights. I attribute it to the excess weight crushing the skin in the crease of my hand as I work out. Sometimes I wear gloves when I lift. Never got em on the bike though.

Just stateing the obvious, but does your throttle tube move freely thru it's range of motion. I've run my bikes in days gone by where the tube was dry and dragged, it caused blisters on my throttle hand.

But the fact is, I had that problem (callouses) once on a particular K bike.
A throttle rocker helped.
Since acquiring a bike with electronic cruise, it has ceased to be an issue.

Why cut them off? Callouses are just your body's response to adversity, toughening up.

I've had gloves wrinkle right there on the spot with which you're having trouble, I guess because they weren't made with enough curvature in the design. Damned uncomfortable.

It's not my gloves. Helimot's gloves are the softest most comfortable gloves ever made. I may be putting too much work into turning the throttle. I'm going to get a throttle rocker.

I used to get them riding my r 100 rs, regardless of glove types (I collect them) and even after my specialist serviced and cleaned the whole throttle system (including the splitter box). I quit wearing my right hand ring, which helped. But the biggest assist was buying an oiler RS, which has way less throttle drag. My callouses are really small now.
I also try to keep a loose grip, expecially on tight, technical road.
Installing a Throttlemeister is a big help.

I just got one about two days ago and used it for the first time this morning. I do have cruise but i gotta say, it was really comfy and kinda cool to have a place just to rest my hand.....
worth every penny of the ten buks it cost me.....

Forgive me if this was mentioned in another response but I think that you are perhaps a little too aggresive with yer go bar if that is the only place you get calluses. When I was a welder working with the big steel I got those all the time but not anymore.

Hey man you can't ride to much. On long straight roads my CrampBuster (similar & perhaps superior to the Throttle Rocker) is great. In the twisties it gets in the way.
