I'm wondering how a person uses barbacks on a bike like mine with the steering damper knob kinda being in the way. Can you just remove that knob maybe? Please advise. Thanks

Entire steering damper mechanism is easily removed. Knob comes off separately, but that leaves the shaft, which must be removed downward.
On an RT, you'll have to remove a fairing section, unglueing fork boots, to access.
Funny thing about motorcycling comfort. If you ride for a week straight, about the 2nd or 3rd day you'll be comfortable. Pretty much no modification makes the 1st day ride comfortable, of course. There's a lot of stuff sold, however.

I was afraid you were going to say that. I mean the part about removing the shaft from the bottom. Guess I better figure if it's worth doing this or not huh?
Thanks.

For machines with the steering damper knob in the way, consider K75 bars, which have about a 4" rise. I'm running K75 bars on my R75 "toaster", and I like the ergonomics. (slightly higher, slightly farther back, and slightly more grip angle) OK, the K75 bars are black, if that bothers you.
