Hi, anybody notice anything funny about the pic of the week called Frosty Morning Ride from Jim Slater, maybe Jim didn't mean for us to think it was real--look at the enlarged pic and you can see sunlight through the wheels and when the bottom of the bike was blended in the rear tire and side stand got wiped out,
so Jim whats that all about?

Yeah what's up with that? If you want to make a Christmas card on your home computer, great, but this is misleading for a BTDT photo.
I think our editors should keep a watchful eye for PhotoShop Fakes. And the submission rules should be clearly stated that unless there is a clearly printed disclosure for 'Humor' or 'Emphasis Added' then the photos should be un-edited.

Way to go Tim, that’s a keen observation. It also looks to be a very overcast day, yet the front of the RT appears to be reflecting a lot of sunlight.

I think Jim photoshopped it, but it was still pretty.
How about the current one? That's pretty sweet, no?

It was flagged as a photoshop job from day one but slipped through the cracks.
Now it can live on as an example of what someone will do for .0000001 minutes of fame on the Internet.

Geez,
It is obvious that flash fill was used in this photo, note the highlights on the fairing. What I see is somewhat different than the one discribed earlier in this thread. The person who took the picture was likely on the ground looking up, the white areas in the tires are from the weeds or grouth in the fore ground, which has been brightened by the flash, I also see a side stand. If you look closer you can see the shadow of the rear wheel on the pavement.
All may not be aware that photos can and are manipulated in the camera as well as the computer, this holds true with film cameras as well.

Hey, I just wanted to clarify my opinion of this subject, regardless of what I posted earlier. I think Jim's photo is very nice and relays a feelings and emotion of the holidays that we all share as riders. Jim that is a very nice picture and a very good job of blending the spirit of riding with a cool crisp winter day.
Kudos... :thumb
Now I stand by my original opine, the POTW should be an original "I was There, or This is My Bike" photo that conveys the meaning and purpose of riding. That is all.
Again, Jim Slater nice picture. Thanks :beer
Somehow I see this thread spinning out of control and becoming negative. :dunno

Wow that GS pic of the week is great! Wonder where that was taken. Beautiful :thumb
Ah! I've been caught. The truth is that it is of course an edited photo and the further truth is that I told this truth to the folks at MOA when I submitted it. Edited or not Don't you think it's kind of neat?
