Gent and ladies,

The subject is a new to me 92 K75 with 47,000 miles. Just bought and rode home. Pulled the saddle bags and stepped back for a full profile view. Notice that the muffler is blueing at the tail end. Look a little closer and where the
headers enter the muffler looks kinda musty green.

Any ideas why the plethora of colors?

The 92 sounds a little louder than my 87 K100. I've read somewhere that the later K75's where toned up a little...

Thnks,
Dan

Thnks,
DanNormal. The K75 exhaust tends to run a bit hotter than the K100 and discolors more. The discoloration is caused by the heating of the stainless exhaust material. If you're really ambitious you can polish this out - but it will reoccur rather quickly so most people don't bother. K100 exhausts also discolor - but it seems not quite as much as the K75. Loudness - I'd think they are about equal. The wider spacing in exhaust pulses may make it seem louder.

Thanks Don. The bike is a hoot to ride. Got a few little things to work on before i do any long rides- but it sure is smooth...

God bless,
Dan
