Recently, I have begun to notice that the battery charging idiot light is glowing more often and a bit brighter than I remember in the past. Can not see anything during daylight but at night it is sometimes visible, sometimes not. The first thought was the 6 year old battery, but I don't think so because the glow brightness is not RPM sensitive. The light actually comes on and goes off rather randomly as RPM slowly increases. I'd like to poll those who know more about Kbike electrics than I do. Could I have a pending alternator/voltage regulator failure ? I've also heard that a faulty starter ground can be somehow involved, correct ?

If we are talking about your K75, go to :
www.ibmwr.org/ktech.shtml

Go halfway down the page to the instrument cluster section, then down to "fix telltale glow on charging light".
I did this fix on my '85 K100RT about 2 yrs. ago. Never had another problem. I installed the diode in the relay box for a clean instillation.

ps. Irv Seaver had the diode in stock, under $10.00.
