does anyone have any idea what i can do to extend the kickstand on my k75 so it doesn't lean so much? i'm worried the bike will fall over when used on hot (or even warm) asphalt or less-than-dry dirt (ie my driveway). again, thanks.

I'ts been quite a few years since the K75 was a current bike. The sidestand was known then to be a little cheesy in design. The main arm of the stand would generally bend over time and the footprint end of the stand would wear away from contact to the ground. I see now in the MOA that their are adds for a sidestand extender. If that doesn't appeal to you, replace the old stand with a new one and buy one of the larger footprints that attaches to the end of the stand. This fix usually lasts about 10 years. Most BMW riders that ride those models generally keep the bikes on the centerstand. This leads to the bottom of that stand wearing out. The fix for this is welding on tabs or replacement with a new centerstand. The replacement stand at least comes with a zert fitting to grease the pivot points. Good luck with fix.

If there's clearance between the stand's foot and the muffler when the stand is retracted, another tack would be to make a thick pad (a layer or two of nylon cutting board, for example) and glue or bolt it onto the underside of the sidestand foot.

My K75 leans over too far also. Under close inspection, it looks as if it has a slight bow. I'd like to compare it to a newer example to see if the newer one is straighter.
One day I'll remove it, heat it up and hammer it straight if that's the problem or I'll but a used one in better condition.

Make a cardboard template of a larger/contoured "foot".
Torch/bandsaw/grind smooth in appropriate thickness.
Clamp on original for proper contour position & weld.
In off season, remove, sandblast & powdercoat.
Solves both height & sinking down issues. Good Hunting... <<<)))
P.S. Consider removing, straightening then cutting stem tube itself. Insert barstock for strength then weld back together.

On my K1100RS the foot print on the side stand was big enough for me to attach a hockey puck to it. Two holes through the side stand plate and viola. The hockey puck is about 1 1/2 thick and was enough to get the scary tilt out of my bike. The only problem is when you put the side stand up the center stand must be up first or the side stand won't go up. So I have learned to always have the side stand out when on the center:)
